The objective of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act 2005 (MGNREGA) aims at building sustainable livelihoods for the rural households. In pursuance of this objective, a Project for Livelihoods in Full Employment under MGNREGA has been formulated. Skill Training Centres were set up in the target geography. This would not only facilitate imparting quality skills to the beneficiaries, but would also, down the line contribute towards sustainability of the program.The overall project period is 12 months from the date of signing of the agreement. The course duration is 576 hours/3 months. The target geographical area includes rural areas from Thiruvanamalai, Cuddalore and Villupuram. A total of 500 students were trained out of which 435 students have been placed.
